Fiddle in Okami style

I've never played the game Okami before, but I stumbled upon the art website for the game today. I was sufficiently inspired to try that style, so I chose Fiddle as the subject matter.

Have a safe and happy Christmas!

Sketches from the past week. I was playing with a raptor design.
People in my Art History final.
Drawing some caribou. It looks like one of those felt boards you color in with markers.
Here's  the REAL reason why you guys are here:

Finals week

Due to the event of finals being next week, I will be story boarding my hand dead this weekend. As such, there will be no Clank and Toodles this week. Never fear, I'll post double the fun next week when finals are over, along with more sketches.
In the meantime, here's a kangaroo.

Good luck on finals!

Adventures continue

I have a hard time drawing dogs, so I practiced on these two. If anybody's willing to let me sketch their dog, let me know. I need the practice.
Just some 'doodlins. Jake inspired me to draw hands.

The newest adventure of Clank and Toodles.

Trying something new

This is my therapy from the hype of the last two days.

I've never painted like this before, so it was a little challenging. And it's realistic. That's always challenging for me. I always have this temptation to change everything I draw into a Disney character.
The man is my character, Ethaniel. He's a guardian angel.

Character Designs

Character Designs for story boarding. Based off of the story "Prince Hyacinth and The Little Princess".
Starting at the top and moving right:
-Prince Hyacinth, cursed with an abnormally large nose. Despite the rest of the world thinking his nose is large, he finds it attractive.
-Fairy.
-The Enchanter, who isn't a major character in the story. But our group decided to make him one of the main characters.
-The Enchanter turned into a cat. Because he can do that.

These were a lotta fun to design!
p.s. sorry about the watermarks.

Fun with Pixels

I downloaded this nifty program for Macs called Pixen. You create pixel art with it. Before yesterday, I had no idea of the awesomeness one can create with millions of squares. There will definitely be more pixel art from me in the future.

Wouldn't it be nice...

...if you could just fly away once in a while?
Assignment for story boarding.
If I could have one super power, it would be flight.

EDIT: My flikr account crashed, which is why a lot of the photos on my blog are no longer up. I'm in the process of fixing this. Sorry!

Holy flapjacks, Batman!

Sorry for the lack of updates. School started and things got a little crazy after that. School is awesome, by the way. I love the animation classes I'm taking. I'd just like to say how completely excited and overjoyed I am that I'm in the program! Here's to the next four most excellent years.
Okay, art time. (Not to be confused with Adventure Time)

Watercolor painting. It was an activity for an awesome book called Prepare to Board. The prompt was "I must."
Final for story boarding. I still have some line work to rework on this guy, but I'm uploading him for now. This is Benny, the socially handicapped rooster. He was raised by ducks and is surrounded by ducks, so he naturally has a social-phobia to work out. He can't fly or swim, but he's the largest and easily the most beautiful animal at the pond. He believes that he's a misfit and hates talking to other animals for fear of saying something completely ridiculous. He's insecure, shy, and painfully tries his best to fit in. About the only thing he's good at is being kind and crowing, which the other animals hate. Poor guy.

Large sketchdump. Hard to see from here, so click here to see it in higher resolution and a description of what each of the pictures are.

Okay, so Hawk drew this fabulous picture of me just because she's awesome like that. I was so pleasantly surprised! So I decided to draw her a picture too. Here she flying on the back of a hawk gryphon. Inspired by the comics Herobear and The Kid, which I absolutely adore.

Remember this guy? He's my character, turned into a giant bird creature. Because he can do that.

That's all for now, folks.

Cowboy and Sketchdump

I wanted to draw something outside of my style. So I chose a cowboy.

sketch by you.
I drew this picture of 'ol Shellhead from one of my comic books.
School starts in two weeks! (again!)

Renegade Beaver and art

Pardon for the offense I may have caused Twilight fans last post. I wasn't bashing you, just the books. If you're a fan of the books, then all the more power to you. They're just not my cup of tea. But Kenny and the Dragon came out and it's wonderful! (psst, Rachel!  You would love the illustrations in this book. They reminded me of your art).
Moving on:
Yesterday we found this tree in our backyard.

Check out these teeth marks!

This poor chap is next.
tree4 by you.
Look out everybody, there's a renegade beaver on the loose!

Okay, enough nonsense on my blog. Time for art.
Here's the thing, I need some hardcore critique because I don't feel like I'm improving at all.

I love the shaded one on this page.

You know how some people are just naturally pleasant? That was this guy on the bottom of this page. He just gave this aura of cuddliness.
session7 by you.

More fun art coming soon, and not just sketches!
Happy Summer Olympics opening day!
