My final for Character Design. I've had this story floating around in my head for a while and would like to develop it further.

Blocking

So this is my first 3D animation I've done since I've been back. Now it's just blocking, but it's been fun! I got some good critique to apply to the next go around that i'll be posting soon.
It's good to be animating again!

Of Horses, Sweets, and Zuni Deer

It's been a while since i've updated, so here's a little peek at school work.

I've been drawing a lot of animals for class lately. I love sketching animals!
We designed animals for Ryan's character design class:
And then came emulation. First I chose fun comic book artist Scottie Young:

Then decided to try Sean Galloway's style:

For Joe's class, we had to redesign our toys to be miniature figures.

And i've been drawing a lot of fun work on the side as well. Here's me as a racer from Sugar Rush, the game in Disney's Wreck It Ralph.

And a quick WIP run cycle of my egyptian horse design.

More school work and fun stuff

Here's an update on schoolwork. Character design class has been a blast lately, as we've been animating gifs of our heroes and villains designs!
Shape drawing:
Caricatures:
Digital painting is quickly becoming one of my favorite classes. Here's the eye of my wolf character as a quick detail practice:

And the midterm:

Drawing for animation is such a fun class as well. Here we had to draw imaginary friends:

Emulate Charlie Harper:

And design a vinyl toy to the theme of "dangerously cute". This was my first attempt:
Cute, sporty even. But not too dangerous.
And my final:

Taking all of these art classes has given me back my motivation to draw. Here are some things I did in my spare time.

Inspired by Craig Thompson's Le Carnet de Voyage, I decided to comic form my own experiences in life. It's more fun than writing in blank pages, anyway:

More gifs:

‘Nuther gif to end the night.

Class Things

Here are some projects i'm working on for class. For Digital Painting, i'm painting Peter and The Wolf. My re-work of the story is that Peter is a young detective and "The Wolf" is a Mafia leader. It's interesting to see the design process from the first couple of sketches at the bottom to the final maquette render at the top.

This was done for the Drawing for Animation class. The assignment was "heavily armed cephalopods".

This was for Character Design class. We had to design a fantasy character for an app geared towards teenage girls.

More work on the way, this semester is going to be a good one!

Iron Man Shoes

Hey all,

Here are some Iron Man shoes I custom painted.

I'm opening a little shoe painting business for those who want a pair of their own custom shoes. Email me at clairictures@gmail.com for rates and other information. I also paint up bags and hats!

Mission Drawrings part 1

My friend Chelsea Stebar was also on a mission at the same time I was. We would write to each other every week when schedule allowed. The best part of the letters was being able to send each other drawings. Here are some I sent to her.

And here is a self-portrait I drew whilst in the Missionary Training Center. I was pretty stoked to go teach Native Americans.
More to come!
